Dana Gorman

Dana Gorman serves as the Head of Private Equity at H/Advisors Abernathy.  He counsels GPs and many of their portfolio companies on initiatives including reputation management, transactions, fundraising, thought leadership initiatives, crises, leadership transitions, litigation, public affairs, media relations and philanthropic endeavors.

Dana has close to 20 years of experience working with his clients that invest across private equity, infrastructure and private credit to design and implement sophisticated and targeted communications plans related to both longer-term business and reputation goals, as well as acute, high-consequence events.  The H/Advisors Abernathy Private Equity team was named PR & Communications Firm of the Year at the 2024 Private Equity Wire U.S. Awards.

His GP clients include Ardian, Carousel Capital, Five Elms Capital, IPEM, JMI Equity, Madison Dearborn Partners, New Mountain Capital, Siris and Vauban Infrastructure Partners, and he has also worked closely with many of those firms’ portfolio companies on critical matters.

Dana also advises executives teams and Boards of Directors of public companies across industries on corporate reputation management, event-driven situations and strategic profile-raising initiatives.  His experience spans M&A, shareholder activism defense, crisis management and response and restructuring and bankruptcy, with recent clients including Briggs & Stratton, Covestro, Dynex Capital, Evercore, SEACOR Marine, Skillsoft, Snap One and WisdomTree.

Dana started at H/Advisors Abernathy in 2006, having graduated from the University of Richmond with a B.A. in Journalism and Spanish.
