Shawn Pattison

Shawn has over 30 years of experience in providing strategic communications counsel to senior management in the areas of corporate and financial public relations, crisis communications and public affairs. His clients include investment firms, family offices, private companies, not-for-profit organizations and high-profile individuals. ​

In addition, he heads H/Advisors Abernathy’s Hedge Fund practice, specializing in building and protecting the reputations of firms and their managers through investor, media and public engagement.​

Shawn brings to H/Advisors a unique perspective on the alternative asset management industry, having served throughout the 1990s as one of the first internal public relations specialists at a hedge fund group, Soros Fund Management LLC. At Soros, he served as press secretary and spokesman for its chairman, Mr. George Soros, and directed the communications activities for the then $22 billion fund group and its chief investment strategist, Mr. Stanley Druckenmiller. ​

Prior to his joining Abernathy, he managed the communications activities of The Robin Hood Foundation, a not-for-profit group dedicated to fighting poverty in New York City.​

Shawn was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in International Relations from the University of Southern California, and holds, with honors, a Master of Science, in foreign service with a concentration in Public Diplomacy from Georgetown University.
