Pete Boogaard brings more than 15 years of experience leading high-stakes communications in government, nonprofit, and private-sector settings and advising organizations navigating complex political, policy, and crisis environments.

Noteworthy, he served as Head of Policy Communications at Snap Inc., preparing CEO Evan Spiegel for Congressional testimony and leading communications on privacy, misinformation, and artificial intelligence.

During the Obama Administration, Pete held senior roles in White House Communications, the National Security Council, and the Department of Homeland Security, where he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Strategic Communication. He led communications on national security and public policy issues including immigration and refugee policy, border and aviation security, cybersecurity, pandemic and disaster response, and Western Hemisphere affairs, including President Obama’s Cuba policy.

After government service, Pete led communications at FWD.us, building and managing a 10-person team and helping drive strategy for major bipartisan political and policy fights in Congress, the Supreme Court, and the White House. He also advised President Biden’s 2020 campaign on immigration policy and supported the presidential transition.
