Alexandra Clements
Alexa has approximately seven years of experience advising companies on communications to support the success of capital markets transactions and financial restructurings. She has advised U.S. and global companies on strategic communications during M&A, shareholder activist engagements and Chapter 11 processes.
She is responsible for developing creative strategies that engage critical stakeholders during these transformational moments, building and maintaining trust and confidence in the company for the long-term. She also works with clients to anticipate and mitigate possible obstacles, such as employee activism, community pushback, regulatory constraints and shareholder opposition.
Representative projects include advising: Jennie Stuart Health on overcoming community opposition to its combination with Deaconess Health, Dril-Quip and Innovex Downhole Solutions on their merger and overcoming related shareholder opposition, McGrath on its announced merger with WillScot and subsequent termination, WisdomTree on shareholder activism defense for three years in a row, West Marine and Alpha Media on financial restructurings, and several clients on pre-IPO preparations.
Alexa received her M.S. in Corporate Communications from the Università della Svizzera italiana and B.A. in Communications and Media Studies from Franklin University Switzerland.
She currently serves as the NIRI Houston Board President and previously served on the boards of housing non-profit Avenue and art/culture non-profit Lawndale Arts Center.
